Cover Reveal – Paradise Rot by Larry Weiner

January 5, 2015 By Michael G. Munz Leave a Comment

I’m pleased to be part of a cover reveal for the Booktrope edition of author Larry Weiner’s humorous horror-thriller (wow, and I thought Zeus Is Dead was  a mash-up!) novel, Paradise Rot!

Paradise Rot

Cover design by Greg Simanson, who also designed the Zeus Is Dead cover, so you know the guy’s got good taste in authors!

“Weiner writes with a smart, fun, electric style in the vein of Dave Eggers or Chuck Palahniuk.” –Kenneth G. Bennett, author of EXODUS 2022

A Shadow in the Flames: Now re-published and in paperback!

December 22, 2014 By Michael G. Munz 1 Comment

A Shadow in the Flames

Now available in paperback!

If I may quote Professor Farnesworth: “Good news, everyone!” This will be getting a little more press in the new year, but I’m excited and I wanted to share it with everyone: Booktrope (my publisher) has just officially re-published my first sci-fi novel (and my first novel, period), A Shadow in the Flames! Pacific NW Blog Hop!

September 29, 2014 By Michael G. Munz 1 Comment

So once more, awesomebassador and fellow Booktrope author Tiffany Pitts–check out her novel Double Blind–has taken it upon herself to give me things to do. (If I don’t do what she says, bad things happen. It’s best if I not elaborate.) This time, it’s the Pacific Northwest Writers Blog Hop! So here I go…

1) What am I working on?

A Dragon at the GateIn terms of writing, I’m chipping away at the third novel in The New Aeneid Cycle, which is my cyberpunk series. It’s tentatively titled A Dragon at the Gate, and I hope to have it ready for publication by mid- to late-2015. I know people are eager to see how the series ends, especially after the final chapter of A Memory in the Black. [Read more…]

A Shadow in the Flames re-release

September 20, 2014 By Michael G. Munz Leave a Comment

Booktrope_logo_color-300x233I’m behind on my blogging duties, but it’s been for  a good cause, I promise! For one, I’ve been working on writing more of A Dragon at the Gate. For another, I’ve been working with Booktrope to get my first novel, A Shadow in the Flames, ready to be re-published through them! No longer will it be a self-published novel. It’s great to have Booktrope throw in their support for ASITF.

For those of you who know me from my comedic fantasy novel Zeus Is Dead, you’ll find A Shadow in the Flames to be a different (but hopefully still enjoyable) experience. A sci-fi novel that some have called “cyberpunk but with more hope,” ASITF centers around Michael Flynn, a young man struggling to find his way in the urban, cybernetic violence of the mid-21st century. While it’s not a comedy, elements of my sense of humor do make an appearance at times, especially through the character of Felix Hiatt, a wise-cracking self-described “information bounty hunter” who features heavily in the novel. Blog Tour Recap!

August 19, 2014 By Michael G. Munz Leave a Comment

Last Friday marked the final day of my first ever book tour—the online tour for the release of Zeus Is Dead. It lasted July 21st to August 15th, and by all accounts was a success. Okay, so I haven’t caught up with Fifty Shades of Twilight Fanfic yet, but if I may quote our tall friend from Twin Peaks…

The Giant - Twin Peaks

“A path is formed by laying one stone at a time.”

The tour was a great experience, and it was suggested that I put a cap on it with a post about what I learned along the way. [Read more…]

July 22, 2014 By Michael G. Munz Leave a Comment

My epic comedic fantasy novel Zeus Is Dead: A Monstrously Inconvenient Adventure released yesterday, and I’m still in the midst of all the craziness. (Seriously, I haven’t gotten much sleep yet.) Today I wanted to share some funny quote graphics from the book. These have been trickling out on Twitter and Facebook, but today I get to finally show you ALL of them in this nifty slideshow!

I’m really excited about this book! Fellow authors who received advanced copies have compared it to the work of Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett, and the early Amazon reviews so far are fantastic!
