If I may borrow from Forrest Gump (and that shows you how old *I* am), this book is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you’re gonna get. Each chapter of The Kingdom is a short story making up the larger whole, and each story contains things that are:
In my novel Zeus Is Dead: A Monstrously Inconvenient Adventure, I tackle the concept of Greek gods returning to the modern world, mining the concept for humor, adventure, satire, and general outrageous goofery. (Yeah, goofery is a word now. *flashes Creative License*) You may think it natural to assume that I have drawn inspiration from Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, or that I’ve at least read it.

Okay, guessing time is over. Tomorrow (also known as Saturday, October 11th) at 7pm PST, I’ve got the pleasure of being this month’s featured guest on Geek Bomb’s Geeks Unleashed Book Club!
So this week I had my second ever podcast interview. (Click here if you missed the first one.) This time I got to hang out with John Adams, who runs the Super Awesome Geek Show! Now I know what you’re thinking: “Wait, ‘Super Awesome?’ How’d YOU get on THAT, Michael?”

After a bit of talk about (of course) Zeus Is Dead and Booktrope, we geek out about other things like Farscape, Twin Peaks, and The Strain. Also cereal. Breakfast is important!
Oh, and a slight correction: Vanya is in Bulgaria, not Romania. My brain mixed her up geographically with Amalia Chitulescu, who designed the covers for A Shadow in the Flames and A Memory in the Black.
