Guest Geeks: D.M. Cain Talks Final Fantasy
It’s Wednesday (or at least it is when this post is going up–the space-time continuum is confusing sometimes), which has come to mean it’s time for another Guest Geek post! This week’s guest is fellow gamer and sci-fi writer D.M. Cain. D.M. LOVES the Final Fantasy franchise, and you can believe she’s come here to make sure we all know just how awesome it is. I have to admit, being primarily a PC gamer, that I’ve only played the first two games in the series back in the NES days. (Yes, I’m old.) After reading this, it looks like I’m going to have to see what I can find for my PS3…
Michael Reads Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters – Ch 18
It’s equus ex machina in the latest chapter of Michael Reads Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters…
The Party Ponies Invade
I’m a little late on posting this entry, mainly because I wasn’t sure quite how to go about it. I’ve definitely enjoyed reading the Percy Jackson series so far. I’ve especially loved seeing another writer’s take on Greek mythology in the modern world. Yet this particular chapter just didn’t work for me. Don’t hate me, but I’m about to get all complainy. (Yeah, I said “complainy.” I’m makin’ it a word and you can’t stop me!) [Read more…]

“Well, that’s easy. I put a bullet in Crichton’s head, and end it.” [Read more…]
Guest Geeks: Sheri Williams Talks Doctor Who
Look! There’s someone else besides me writing on Geek Notes! That must mean it’s time again for a Guest Geeks post! (That, or the blog has been usurped by North Korean hackers, I suppose.) This week my guest geek is Sheri Williams, who comes to share with us a little about her obsession with Doctor Who. I was a bit of a latecomer to the show myself, and–
Well, maybe I’ll save that for my own post sometime. I’ll simply say that Tennant’s Doctor is my favorite (I also think he’d make a great Hermes if Zeus Is Dead ever becomes a movie), and yield the floor to Sheri…
Coming soon: A Memory in the Black – Booktrope Edition!
If you’ve been watching this site for a little while, you already know that A Shadow in the Flames, my cyberpunk novel (and the first novel I ever wrote) was re-published under Seattle publisher Booktrope’s label last December. The new version featured slight improvements to the self-published ebook I released in June 2013, and a paperback edition! [Read more…]
Review: Trapped in a Room with a Zombie (Seattle)
I have faced the zombie at the base of Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill and emerged victorious!
Okay, so I can’t take all the credit. I was part of a team, and together we kicked the crap out of the zombie known as Doctor Oxy and escaped her room of puzzley terror! Well, all of us except for Clint. Clint got bit. But his sacrifice was not in vain!
You probably want to know just what the holy heck I’m talking about, huh? [Read more…]
